History of the Washington Branch NAACP

In 1917, the Washington, PA Branch NAACP was chartered, making it one of the oldest of the 1500 Branches in the country at that time. Two world wars, a severe depression and general apathy caused the rise and fall of the activity of the Branch.  In 1958, the Branch was reactivated and reorganized by Louis Waller.
